“Our company works in South Africa, the Congo and Angola, all African countries. I didn’t know South Sudan, but an American associate introduced us to this place. He said there had been years of fighting, but the time had come to build the country. I came here in 2007. At that time there was no scheduled flights to Juba, so we rented a charter aircraft from Nairobi. There were no hotels then, only tents.
