Gangs and drugs warlords rule Rio's favellas, running pitched battles with police who rarely enter their neighbourhoods, except heavily armed and in force. For young people growing up in the favella's, gang membership, drug dealing and violence are an almost unavoidable part of daily existence. One favella boxing club is providing an alternative, offering a chance to fight for a different life.
